My Week Was An 8, Health Wise

On a scale from 1-10 where 1 is bad and a 10 excellent, my week has been an 8. How about all of yours, any 10s out there? I hope that there are no 3s or below. Of course, 5 is average although I have never considered any of my blog friends’ average. I had to give my week an 8 because I got through 2 doctors appointments with satisfactory reports. I had to knock off 4 points because I didn’t eat too healthy or get out into the sun and fresh air much. Then I added a couple of points for remembering to take my calcium and vitamin D.

I am writing this and smiling because I never know how to answer when asked the 1-10 questions about my pain level. Like today, I gave the nurse a range, 5-7. She asked which is it, since there is a lot of difference. I think that from now on I will just answer 5. Also, I have a problem when asked about only one joint while there might be others screaming for attention.

I saw a new doctor today, an Orthopedic Surgeon. I had made this appointment 4 weeks ago when I couldn’t walk on my left knee. Wait, what did I write? I walk on my feet not my knees. I meant the period my left knee was not supporting me, hurt, and buckled to one side. He did a shot of cortisone into it and said we’ll see how that works. I’ll go back sometime for the shot in my right knee.

I have a couple of long blogs buzzing around it my head about my doctors. Tonight though I need my beauty rest…good night to all you wonderful 10 plus friends.

  1. I've been feeling about a 7 or 8 this week. Much better than last week :)
I've never had cortisone. Does it hurt? Does it work well?

    Blessings, mallen

  2. Glad to hear you were an 8 this week. I am very lucky - my R/A is mild - have had it for 9 years and it is under control. :) God bless you!
